The Mount Carlyle Lodge

You will be staying at a high alpine mountain lodge owned by Kootenay Mountain Holidays Inc. The Mount Carlyle Lodge is an ecologically sensitive site that offers the perfect environment in which to shed the tensions of the daily grind, live simply with the mountains and engage in a process of personal development.
The lodge is situated on a southern exposed small knoll. It is in a prime location surrounded by alpine larches, distant glaciers and spectacular summits.
Welcome the morning alpine glow that fades in and out onto the surrounding peaks and sip a cup of coffee before you head out into the mountains. After an amazing day out in the mountains, the lodge offers a great place to sit back and relax. At the Mount Carlyle Lodge, you can enjoy a glass of wine and a vista of mountain peaks and glaciers while you wait for the sauna to get hot to soothe your hiking muscles!
Lodge Details
This mountain retreat has solar power, running water, ample drying space with 2 propane stoves, a separate relaxation room, an indoor washroom and night toilet, 3 bunk bedrooms and a separate shower/sweat lodge.
Due to the remote location, the lodge must be entirely maintained by helicopter support.
When the lodge is not being used for CMC, it serves in the summer to stage alpine hiking adventure tours and in the winter backcountry ski touring trips.
How to get there?
The easiest and fastest way of getting to CMC is by plane. Flights into Castlegar Airport originate from either Vancouver or Calgary. For detailed information on connection flights from your home destination, contact your travel agency or log onto www.aircanada.com.

Your Mountain Town
Corporate Mountain Culture is located in the mountainous environment known as the West Kootenays of British Columbia, surrounded by the Purcell and Selkirk Mountains. It is an eco-system that hosts rocky terrain high in the alpine and interior temperate rainforests in the valleys below. Lakes and rivers are fed by ancient glaciers left from the last ice age 10,000 years ago.
The West Kootenays are comprised of sedimentary and igneous rock formations that date back to the time when the Pacific tectonic plate collided with the continent America, and oceanic terrains met continental land masses. Metamorphic activity caused the appearance of high-quality minerals in this area. Originally settled by the Kootenay and Ktanaxa Indian bands, the area was settled 100 years ago by Europeans prospecting to earn their fortune from mining high in the mountains.
Kaslo was one of the many mining towns built to facilitate the Silvery Slocan Rush. It served as a center for all sectors of business during the mining era. Today, it is known as the “Little Switzerland of British Columbia”, attracting outdoor lovers from all over the world. With its overwhelmingly beautiful location, hospitality and charm, Kaslo offers the perfect setting to start the CMC journey.
