Dr. Darryl Grigg
Dr. Darryl Grigg, R. Psych., is a partner with Newman & Grigg Psychological and Consulting Services Ltd. His primary focus is on empowering client’s leadership potential through the enhancement of interpersonal effectiveness.
Dr. Grigg helps companies strengthen teams and manage change. He provides individual and group assessments and offers coaching to executives and senior management to help them refine, and extend their leadership practices.
Dr. Grigg is an accomplished speaker, facilitator and coach. He brings a collaborative and ethical approach to his work as well as a talent for promoting close bonds and safe training environments to maximize client learning and growth. His energetic and entertaining style ensures participants will have a powerful experience that is relevant, practical, and applicable to all aspects of life.
Dr. Grigg co-authors a business column that appears regularly in the Vancouver Sun and other newspapers across Canada. He is featured in the CRM Learning Film entitled “Emotional Intelligence” and has been interviewed by a variety of media outlets, including Fast Company and CBC Radio. He has been extensively engaged in corporate development, training and coaching in Canada and the United States.
Dr. Grigg received a doctorate degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia. He is a registered psychologist in British Columbia, Canada.

Dr. Jennifer Newman
Dr. Jennifer Newman, R. Psych., is a partner with Newman & Grigg Psychological and Consulting Services Ltd.. Dr. Newman is active in the areas of interpersonal effectiveness training and leadership development as a trainer, coach and seminar designer. Dr. Newman brings a wealth of experience to her clients, providing innovative and insightful services and programs.
Dr. Newman specializes in enhancing interpersonal and relationship effectiveness in teams and with leaders, systems and organizations. Her work involves employing emotional and relational competence concepts and systems thinking to assist clients and organizations in developing leaders and promoting effective corporate cultures.
Dr. Newman is committed to a collaborative relationship with clients where leader and organizational issues are handled sensitively and thoroughly. In her capacity as trainer and speaker, Dr.Newman offers highly relevant and memorable experiences as well as promoting safe learning environments. She is an energetic, warm, spontaneous and highly skilled facilitator, presenter and coach.
A recognized authority in management and leader development, Dr. Newman co-writes a work place issues column that appears regularly in the Vancouver Sun and other newspapers across Canada. Dr. Newman has appeared on CBC Radio and can be seen regularly on City TV’s Breakfast TV, discussing business related issues. Dr. Newman is currently the Chair of The Psychologically Healthy Workplace Collaborative in conjunction with the British Columbia Psychological Association.
Dr. Newman received a doctorate degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia and is a registered psychologist in the province of British Columbia, Canada. She has coached, trained, and taught in Canada and the United States.

Leni Neumeier
Leni Neumeier is the summer program manager and lead guide of Kootenay Mountain Holidays Inc.
Leni grew up in the Bavarian Alps of Germany, where she discovered her love for the mountains. After many years of trekking the world and traveling in remote wilderness areas, including cycling the Tibetan Plateau, she moved to BC, Canada, her favourite place.
The combination of Leni's confident and professional guiding skills and her vibrant personality allowed her to found Discovery Canada: Outdoor Adventure Inc., a premier guiding outfit on the north shore of Kootenay Lake. Outdoor enthusiasts from all over the world have enjoyed the stunning alpine environment of the Kootenays through Discovery Canada: Outdoor Adventure Inc. Some of those experiences have been published in British Columbia Magazine, Explore Magazine, The Spokesman Review and the Vancouver Province.
Leni has been safely guiding backpacking, hiking and mountain bike expeditions since 1992. She has been certified as a Hiking Guide by the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides.
Leni’s passion for the outdoors and adventure led her to compete in the world's largest adventure race. In 2001, Leni navigated Team Advil through the rugged mountains to complete the Eco-Challenge Race held in the Southern Alps of New Zealand. In 2002, Leni again participated with Team Advil as the navigator in the Eco-Challenge Race this time forging passage through the dense jungle in Fiji. Both races were recorded and televised on EXN, OLN and Discovery Channel.

Jeff Gfroerer
Jeff Gfroerer is the owner and lead guide Kootenay Mountain Holidays Inc.
Jeff has over 26 years of backcountry experience, which started in the Austrian Alps.
Jeff has been guiding professionally as a backcountry ski, helicopter and snow cat guide since 1987. After his return from Europe to Canada, he has managed three separate backcountry lodge operations over the last 20 years. Over 3000 guests from Europe and North America have enjoyed the mountain retreats that Jeff has developed and offered.
Over the years, his lodges have received media coverage in various ski and snowboard magazines like Powder Magazine and have been featured in backcountry ski movies including Freedom of the Heels and Beyond the Groomed by Nils Larson.
In 2001, Jeff designed and constructed his third backcountry mountain retreat, the Mount Carlyle Lodge. In addition to managing the lodges and guiding guests into the mountains, he has developed unique hazard mitigation systems for avalanche avoidance and travel safety in the sometimes hostile winter mountain world.
Jeff is a master in mountain living. His depth of knowledge and years of experience allows him to deal with the constant changes found within a remote alpine environment.

Karen MacNeill
Karen MacNeill, M.A., M.Sc. is an associate with Newman & Grigg Psychological and Consulting Services. She is committed to helping elite performers reach their full potential by providing workshops, course instructions, and presentations pertaining to mental training and personal and interpersonal effectiveness.
Karen has a specialty in sport and performance psychology. She consults and provides services to numerous national teams and development level athletes and coaches. In addition, she has a keen interest in performance and wellness in the workplace, and has conducted research in this area.
Karen has first-hand knowledge of the attributes required to achieve and sustain peak performance. She competed at the international level on the Canadian Field Hockey team for 10 years. In addition, she has worked with high-performance athletes and Olympians since the winter Olympics in 1998. She attended the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics in 2002 in the capacity as a mental trainer. Her graduate training in both Sport and Counselling Psychology combine to give Karen a strong foundation for training others to achieve high levels of personal and performance excellence.
Karen MacNeill is completing her PhD in Counselling Psychology at the University of British Columbia. She brings seven years of experience in the performance enhancement field, having consulted, trained, lectured and instructed in Canada and abroad.
